• Question: chat got cut off :( if someone smoked/took drugs/drank would they be at higher risk of getting breast cancer and make the tumor get bigger??? have you ever been affected by cancer (or anything like drugs ect) because i think the things you are affected by in your life could affect your work xx

      It’s annoying when the chat window vanishes when you’re in the middle of a conversation isn’t it 🙂
      I don’t know whether using alcohol or smoking etc when you already had cancer would affect the tumour…you might find information about it on the Cancer Research website

      I’ve not personally been affected by drugs, but I’ve believed for a while that the information about drugs that is presented in the media is misleading, and it made me want to research drugs to help present a clearer picture to people!

      As for cancer, when I was doing my GCSEs my Dad was diagnosed with cancer, but it was caught really early and he’s since made a full recovery. So that affected me in that I think it’s really important to check yourself for lumps a lot, and lead a healthy lifestyle.

    thank you very much 🙂 i will look on the website. my mums best friend has got breast cancer but wont be able to recover so i was just wondering if anything could have affected that.

      I’m really sorry to hear that. My best’s friend’s Mum died of cancer when we were really young, it’s really horrible. It’s very hard to predict who will get cancer, you can lead a really healthy lifestyle and still get it, or you can drink and smoke and never get it. But if you can avoid things that increase your risk it’s probably better.
