Hi @susejdog
I don’t think WE as in the scientists and students involved in I’m a Scientist will ever be able to breathe underwater.
Maybe….maybe….in the far future humans could evolve gills if it would be enough of an advantage over other humans to be able to go underwater, but I can’t see why it would be an advantage to survival to go underwater.
Although we can’t beathe underwater, there was a programme about the human body on TV a few weeks ago which filmed a man who could hold his breath for an enormous amount of time while underwater…so although it’s not BREATHING under water, maybe it’s a start?
THAT SOUNDS SUPER COOL!!! I CANT HOLD MY BREATH FOR EVEN MORE THAT 30 SECONDS!!! OK MAYBE A LITTLE LONGER…….. 😀 WE COULD ALWAYS HAVE THIS OPERATION WHEN WE ATTACH THE GILLS TO A HUMAN AND LINK IT TO THEIR LUNGS 😉

Maybe, who knows. It would be cool, certainly!
