Yep I definitely need technology to do my work. Measuring the electrical activity in children’s brain needs several computers and an amplifier that makes brain activity big enough to record on the computers. If there is a power cut I can’t measure any children’s brain activity 🙂
I need technology to do my work, I need to use a computer to run the statistics I need, and store all the data for my research. If there is a power cut I can’t access my data so I can’t do my experiments. But I have a lot of journal articles I need to read for my PhD, so I can read these if we have no power.
Yes it does – a lot! We had a powercut about a year ago at my work. I had to stop doing my experiment as the light on my microscope stopped working. Power is so important that some of the equipment is on a back up system so when the power stopped, all the samples that have to be kept frozen did not thaw out as the freezers were linked to the back up power!
