Thanks for your question!
As far as I understand, stars don’t ‘explode’ as such, but when they die, they can expand to many many times their current size. When our star (the sun) dies, which hopefully won’t be for millions of years, it will expand to completely swallow up the earth.Hope this answers your question 🙂

Hmm, there seems to be some disagreement as to which it will become, I’m not sure myself I’m afraid…
