      I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to this!

      As far as I’m aware, dreams are caused by random firing in the brain. However, there are theories that dreams are the brain’s way of consolidating (or reinforcing) memories that you have. So I guess these neurons fire while you’re asleep, which gives you the images you see in your dreams.

      I have no idea what the truth is, but it’s a really interesting question 🙂
