      Hi @jodiebowey23
This is a tough question to answer. Unfortunately some people don’t get over depression, and it can really negatively affect their lives.
There are some different treatments, which seem to work for some people. A therapy called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can be used, this is where people talk to a therapist, who helps them overcome their negative thoughts by teaching them positive thought techniques.

This is a great way, but it takes a long time, and therefore is really expensive.

There are also drugs called SSRIs which affect seratonin levels in the brain, a chemical related to ‘happiness’. Rachael studies this chemical, so maybe ask her for more info. These drugs however do not work for everyone, but because they’re relatively cheap in comparison to therapy they’re often used.

Hope this answers your question 🙂
