      Hi sophie11xoxo

I’m afraid I really dont know the answer to this question! I’ve never even seen a hypnotist apart from on the TV so I havent seen how they do it. Perhaps one of the other scientists could help or maybe you could try googling it?

I’d be interested to know if you find anything out!

      Hi @sophie11xoxo
I have a friend who is a hypnotist. I don’t know exactly how he does it, but it’s a relaxation technique, and to check that people are in the correct state of relaxation, he uses a machine similar to a lie detector, that measures the sweaty-ness of the skin by seeing how well it conducts electricity. From this (we call it a physiological measure) he can tell whether your mind is in the correct state to be suggestible to hypnosis.

Sorry this doesn’t completely answer your question but I hope it’s interesting 🙂

      Hi @sophie11xoxo

I’m afraid I don’t know the answer but… “look into my eyes, not around the eyes… you are feeling very sleepy”

“When you wake you will think that Tim has answered your question excellently and you will vote for him to stay in I’m a Scientist!” 🙂

Let me know if that worked 😉
