      Hi @maevelewisxo

      I don’t normally have a lunch break. I can take lunch when I like but I am often too busy, so I usually each lunch at my computer while working. It is not as bad as it sounds, a scientists life can be busy, but it is lots of fun.

      Hi @maevelewisxo
      Thanks for your question. I try to ALWAYS take a lunch break, as it’s nice to get away from your desk for a bit. Also where I work there is a really nice balcony, so it’s great to meet up with work friends and eat lunch in the sunshine. We work right by a supermarket so we tend to buy a picnic between us and all share it!

      In the winter I tend to buy soup (or bring in stuff I’ve made myself), but I still try and get away from my desk for a bit each day, it helps me to clear my head!

      Also, it’s nice to talk to other people, either about work if something’s bothering me, or about other stuff if not.

      Thanks for your question 🙂

      As I am my own boss, my lunch-break is as long as I want it to be! But I try to make sure that it is at most an hour long. It’s often much shorter, if I have a lot to do, or if I am so interested in what I am doing that I take a shorter time. I know that a lot of people I work with would be very jealous of a lunch-break for a whole hour! I’m also afraid that, sometimes, I can get so interested in a piece of work that I completely forget to have lunch. Does that make me a geek?

      @maevelewisxo

      its up to me how long my lunch break is so mine varies a lot too. Sometimes I wont have one at all – maybe I’m too busy or I want to get everything done so I can leave early. Other times, I might want to take a couple hours to meet a friend or go shopping or run errands. On a very uneventful, normal day, I might have about half an hour either in my office using the internet while I eat or with colleagues in the coffee room.
