• Question: if the childs brain gives of alot of electricity is it cleverer then a child that doesnt give off as much??

      Thanks for a great question. No the strength (amplitude) of the electricity produced by children’s brains when they are just resting doesn’t relate to how clever the children are. More or less electricity can be produced by a child who is cleverer than another child. However, the strength of electricity produced by children’s brains when they are doing certain tasks can relate to their intelligence, but it is really the task they are doing that is testing how clever they are, the brain activity is just a measure of how difficult or easy they find the task.

      It is also worth knowing that many scientists don’t agree on what the best way to measure cleverness (intelligence) is.
