  I don’t know, but I don’t think this is true. As far as I’m aware, dreams are caused by random firing in the brain. However, there are theories that dreams are the brain’s way of consolidating (or reinforcing) memories that you have.
  
  I have no idea what the truth is, but it’s a really interesting question 🙂
