This is a very tough question for a psychologist/epidemiologist like me to answer 🙂
Quantum mechanics is the study of how tiny particles that make up atoms interact and move with each other, it’s a branch of physics, although when it first began it was almost more like philosophy as running the experiments was so difficult, most of the work was done by theorising. Only recently have more experiments been run, such as those happening in the Large Hadron Collider under Geneva in Switzerland.
