  What an absolutely brilliant question! I’ve never really thought about what the most important speech sound is. Pretty much all speech sounds are important because we have words that differ in only one sound like bed, ted, ben, bud. I’m not sure what the most common speech sound used in everyday speech is, but it would be cool to find out.
