      It is definitely easier to look at how the brain is involved in laughing than it is to understand what ’causes’ laughter.

      If what causes laughter is hearing something funny, then I guess the real question is what makes something funny and that seems to be different for everyone. You may like to read my answer to a related question here http://ias.im/58.2934
