• Question: What is it you find interesting about drugs and thier affect on the brain?xxx I am also interested in boilogy and wish to become a doctor. Also, i really like music!!

      Thanks for the question! What kind of music do you like?

      I find drugs and their affect on the brain really interesting for quite a lot of reasons, but particularly because I think that drugs are presented badly in the media, there is a lot of ‘over the top’ language used about them, and their effects are exaggerated. I would like to find out the FACTS about drugs, and then tell the world what I’ve found.

      Good luck in your studies, biology is great, you may need to work hard to become a doctor, but it’s interesting work so I reckon you’ll be fine. Do you want to be a medical doctor. One of the people in my band is a medical doctor, he is currently training to be a GP. The other member of my band is a doctor of Neuroscience, so we’re all going to be doctors soon, once I’ve finished my PhD anyway 🙂

    Drugs are talked of badly, but isnt that because they can have bad affects on you? i think it is great you are actually going to find out the facts about them 🙂 how are you going to do this?? (by the way)

    I am prepared to work hard, and really haope to be a medical doctor, maybe even a GP! what type of doctor are you going to be??

      There’s no doubt that drugs are bad for you, but because alcohol and tobacco are legal and the others are not people assume that they must be better for you, but this isn’t true.

      To make my podcasts I am going to interview scientists who do research in to these drugs to find out what is actually known about them.

      Good luck in becoming a medical doctor. When I finish my PhD I will be a Doctor of Epidemiology (and sort of Psychology). But PhD literally means ‘doctor of philosophy’.
