• Question: Why did you choose the brain and not any other part of the human body?

      Hello,

      It was the topic I found most interesting during my degree at imperial, plus it is still one of the great unknowns. The human brain is the most complicated thing we know of in the while universe and I love the idea something I do could help us understand it better.

      Thanks for the question!
      Simon is right, it’s so complicated and fascinating, it’s hard not to be drawn to it. Plus, we all have one, and I like work that I can relate back to me and the people I know!

      The work I do isn’t directly looking at the brain, although one potential way that cannabis may affect the illnesses I’m interested in is by causing changes in chemicals in the brain, so I’m still looking at it indirectly!

      I was first interested in psychology, the study of people’s behaviour. Since the brain controls everyone’s behaviour looking at the brain was a natural consequence of my interests.

      I’ve got to say that the more you learn about the brain the more fascinating it becomes 🙂
