Great question! What you look like is inherited through your DNA, and you get half from you Mum and half from your Dad. However, it’s not just one gene that determines how you look, but lots and lots of them combining. So you may inherit something from your Dad that hasn’t shown itself in him, because of other things, but does with you.
It’s strange, and at the moment there’s no way of predicting what a baby will look like, but potentially in the future the genes of the egg and sperm that made you could be looked at and selected to make you blonde, tall and blue eyed… Do you think this is a good idea??

I think you’re right that choosing what babies look like is a bad idea, but do you think that checking the egg and sperm for genes that will lead to the babies having a disease is a good idea?
