Question: why when your cremated is your body mass al0ot less?
what do you think about cremation? our funerals more orthodox and do they polllute the enviorement less? - btw i dont mean to be insensitive if anyoe
Hi @drstiles
I assume it’s because of the amount of water in your body, when a body gets burnt all the water evaporates away, so only the non-water ashes remain.
I think that being cremated is better for the environment – although you are being burnt, you are not taking up a load of space in the ground. If everyone dies, and everyone gets buried, you would run out of space to bury people pretty quickly (and space to build houses, roads, farm crops etc).
I don’t think your question is insensitive don’t worry. Everyone dies at some point and it’s something we have to think about.

@drstiles I would like to give away most of my body as organ donations or to science, but whatever’s left of me I’d like to be cremated.
